New to absinthe...

Okay, so I've never had real absinthe before, or at least I don't think I have. I've recently become addicted to the taste of Lucid, the supposedly closest to legitimate absinthe allowed for normal sale in the US. I just love the way it tastes, but I doubt it's real absinthe. Or maybe it is, I don't know!
Anyway, a friend of mine bought me a bottle of Strong68 from overseas and, like I said, I'm new to the whole absinthe thing. All I want to know is if this stuff is real absinthe or was my friend fooled by the marketing the website had? Does thujone have to be in it to be considered authentically prepared absinthe because this bottle of Strong68 sure brags about how much theirs has. I just want to get my hands on the real stuff one of these days since I love the way Kubler and Lucid taste, I'm thinking I'll like more authentic absinthe even more. From what I've read online, apparently I can't trust a product to be absinthe even though it says it's absinthe on the damn label, ugh. Confused, please fill me in a little. Thanks.
